Born Robert Eldon Arthur Moore
in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Bobby
collaborated
with his brother (Freddy) on hundreds of stage, screen and
studio projects over the first 30 years of his
life.
Nu Kats on stage: Bobbyzio and Freddy.
Bobby has had much success on
his own, including 'The Robert Moore Group', 'Bittersweet'and later
leading 'Bobbızio'.
|
Bobby has two PLATINUM albums.
Bobby was given the moniker 'Bobbızio'
when Drummer Allen J Galles formed the habit of yelling 'Bobbızio
Bobbızio' every time Bobby was about to take a sax solo. Al told
us he was impersonating the way James Brown used to call out 'Maceo'
whenever Bobby Maceo was about to solo!
Rhino Records President Harold Bronson wrote:
Multi-instrumentalist Bobbızio Moore has a character for each instrument
he plays. He can be dangerous. At any given moment his eyes will glaze,
and he'll froth in an unrelenting barrage of self-effacing jokes in the
manner of Rodney Dangerfield. One of the band's
strongest attributes, he says is "We have the ability for looking
interesting even during the boring moments."
Bobbızio's sax, guitar, keyboards, percussion,
vocals and arranging skills can be heard on any records by: The
Kats, The Nu
Kats and Boy (Next
Door)
. Bobbızio's sax also
graces the BoDeans' 'When The Love Is Good' on their 'Home'
CD.

Some of Bobbyzio's Press
Clips:
BAM - California's Music Magazine:
| Freddy Moore's bristle-headed brother Bobbyzio "Easy Beezy" Moore, whose pigeon-toed antics defy his ability to play sax and guitar.
..."Bobbyzio used to be our roadie. Until one night he rolled the truck with all the equipment in it. After that, he joined the band as a full-time member."
..."We've got tickets booked up to the
Golden Gate bridge in February if nothing happens." suggests
Bobbyzio, ever one for drastic solutions.
|
| LA Weekly:
| The Kats are a rock
band with musical cleverness and humor permeating their every
move. Freddy's robust sense of theatrics is complimented by
his brother Bobbyzio 's unbridled passion on saxophone; it's
as though they perform for each other as they might have when
they were kids in their bedroom, egging each other on with
energetic abandon.
|
| Los Angeles Herald Examiner:
| ...the raucous
wails of two guitars and the saxophone of Bobbyzio Moore, who
with his spiky-kooky hair and herky-jerky stage moves
complements Freddy Moore to an appallingly fitting degree (as
a friend remarked, is it possible that both of these boys
issued from the same poor mother?).
|
| The Reader:
| Nu Kats...for sheer
ear titillation, there's Moore's voice and brother Bobbyzio's
sax as mainstays of the sound.
|
| Daily Titan:
| His younger
brother, Bobbyzio Moore, on guitar and sax complements Freddy
with his own moves (only, with a sax in his mouth…if you can
believe it). It's easy to tell who the brothers are. Bobbyzio
has the scratchy sax and Freddy has the scratchy voice. Dennis
Peters on bass and Allen Galles on drums round out the
quartet, whose music has been likened by one critic to a
"collision between the Dickies and Cheap Trick." "We've been
called everything," Bobbyzio Moore says. "We've been called
punk rock, power pop, R&B-oriented, new wave … even jazz
rock because of my sax."
|
| Music Connection:
| Musicianship: If
this night was standard indication, the Nu Kats are one of the
tightest local units around. Bobbyzio Moore is the resident
jack-of-all-trades, hopping from guitar to keyboards to sax
with equal facility, injectiong the tunes with kinetic
vitality.
|
| Daily Variety:
| "Heart Of Steel ,"
elevated by a spunky sax line from Moore's brother, Bobbyzio,
were riveting. There's abundant energy and enough sass, to
make the group a solid attraction. Bobbyzio Moore also
fulfilled a veteran rock observer's long held fantasy, by
landing flat on the seat of his pants after a classic rocker
leap into the air.
|
| Music Connection:
| Moore and his
brother Bobbyzio, who was an absolute terror on the sax, were
the visual stars of the show.
|
| LA Weekly:
| The Kats play
strikingly original, danceable music with melodic new wave
undertones and a dynamite rock and roll saxophone.
|
| The New Rocker:
| "Musically, we've
decided who does what best/ Bobby (Bobbyzio Moore, Freddy's
Brother) plays saxophone, but he basically started as a
guitarist and a bass player. He plays keyboards and all these
things, but we decided to concentrate on his sax because he
can get a really nice sax sound, and he can do a lot of
theatrics on sax.
|
| Insider Magazine:
| The lighting
effects are especially impressive thanks to Bobby Moore
(formerly of The Robert Moore Group of "No Driving on Sunday"
fame), who also adds his wailing sax to "Heat Wave" and "True
Fine Mama."
|
HISTORICAL TRIVIA:
When Bobby was 15 years old he and Freddy recorded, edited,
dupilcated, packaged and distributed Bobby's solo album:
"Some people call it
noise...I call it music!"
