The third
configuration of the Pachucos : Goldstein from
Edina and Gasterland from Richfield (westside), both from the band
" Euphoria ".
Brenner
and Moore both from 'accross-the-tracks' in Richfield (eastside) and
both from the songwriting duo " THE
". Kubera
from Burlingame in the San Francisco Bay area, fresh to
Minnesota!
As Kubera said: "We used to be called Skogie
and the FLAMING Pachucos, then we changed personel and called
ourselves Skogie AND the Flaming Pachucos, then we changed
personel again, now we call ourselves simply Skogie.......and
the Flaming Pachucos"
When Dick Rogers , the multi-intrumentalist and (more or less)
'star' of
Skogie & the Flaming Pachucos(v2) departed, the band had to scramble to put together two
sets of material for their next gig. Most of the material Skogie & the Flaming Pachucos(v2) were performing was dependent on
Dick 's instrumental prowess and backing vocals.
Skogie &
the Flaming Pachucos(v3) were able to salvage two
Skogie & the Flaming Pachucos(v2) originals (Atomic Dildo #23
and Mighty Rivers/Chant of the Dying Insects).
Moore taught the
band two songs he had written for
An English Sky (Colonel Arnold's Cross and Pretend That You Love Me), and in a burst
of creativity he composed 7 new vocal based songs (You Don't Even Know My Name,
Don't Fall In Love, My Baby Loves Me, Call Me Crazy, Treat Me Like Dirt, Twelve
Days Ago, and Ram It). They rounded out the set list with 4 Sun Studios 50s rock
songs and a 20 minute Beatles medley.
Everything took place at " THE
EUPHORIUM"
