I try to live with a low impact
Walk not drive whenever I can
I lost my bike when a truck rolled back
I'll never spin those wheels again
I sold my cluncker, for the cash
A hyrid ride is my best friend
And if the city lays down the track
I'll ride the rails whenever I can
When I'm too old to drive my car
They'll come and take away my key
I'll make a trip across L.A.
And ride the SUBWAY TO THE SEA
My lady grew up in old el ay
She used to drive on the lone highway
But now that traffic is moving slow
I see here walkin' wherever she roams
If I had dollar for every time
I travelled far beneath the land
from here to there in every clime
I'll trace the routes upon my hand
From the Bronx to see miss liberty
Stopped for a show on the great white way
The UK Tube, metro de Paris
B.A.R.T. beaneath the bay
When I'm too old to drive my car
They'll come and take away my key
I'll make a trip across L.A.
And ride the SUBWAY TO THE SEA
