Aboard the boat in nineteen-and-oh-two
I met you girl, I fell in love with you
And when we reached a new land of our own
We wed and raised a family in our home

Our children left the land we came to till
They earned their keep by toiling at the mill
They bought a house down there in the city
They fixed it up and tried to keep it pretty

<INTSRUMENTAL>

And then the baby boomers filled the land
And TV ads were driving up demand
For useless toys to keep the babys busy
Now tossing in my grave is making me feel dizzy

Hey now, my nose is our of joint
I didn't do all of this for nothing
Wasn't there a point?

Hey now, hold up and settle down
I didn't sail across the planet
To raise a bunch of clowns

I toss and turn above the warming sea
I never guessed that this is how it'd be
I tried to make life better for my clan
A pioneer opening new land

<INTSRUMENTAL>
