She got dirty so we ran off to Vegas
She didn't want the LAPD to make us
So she bought a cheap truck from her cousin
And she really had to keep the beast buzzin'
But the junker broke an axle in Barstow
And our ready cash amounted to zero
But they towed it off and gave us a loaner
So we headed off into Arizona
Cause she figured they'd look for her in Vegas
In Arizona there'd be no one to take us
So we drove until we pulled into Topock
And stayed the night in a cabin with no lock

SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Baby, can we please go home?
Can we please go home?

In the morning she woke early and snuck away
Leaving me with a bill that I had to pay
So I had to start looking for some quick work
And I made some cash subbing for a store clerk
Then I bought a greyhound ticket to LA
And I found my home not far from the freeway
I called my boss to tell him where I'd been
But he said I needn't bother to come in
Cause he gave my job to some other slacker
So my future became even blacker
But at least I was back home in LA again
I was in the market for a new girlfriend

SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Baby, please don't you come home?
Baby, don't come home.

SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Baby, don't come home
I called my brother and asked him for money
He laughed like he thought it was funny
So I hung up and jumped in my Rover
But the LAPD pulled me right over

They asked me "Do you know the girl in this picture ?"
I said "Yes but I recently ditched her "
"She's somewhere beyond of California"
The cop said "I'm just gonna warn ya"
"If you see her tell her to come clean"
"If we catch her it's gonna get real mean"
I told them I was finished with all that
They released me but I felt like a dirty rat
I hit the bars and I looked for a new friend
Buy me one drink and I'll never ask you again
But the tradeoff in the proposition
Had me running back to my home again

SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Baby, won't you please come home?
Baby, please come home

And there she was grinning like fat cat
Waiting for me sitting on the welcome mat
I let her in but I knew I'd regret it
When she kissed me I began to forget it
Somehow I forgot all my trouble
We made up like we were a happy couple
Just when the getting was getting good
The choppers started circling the neighborhood
She pulled a pistol out of her handbag
She got cocky and started her bad ass brag
She claimed that no one ever could catch her
They'd have to cart her off in a stretcher

SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Baby, why did you come home?
Why did you come home?

SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Why did you come home?
SIOBHAN, SIOBHAN
Why did you come home?

We headed off into Arizona
